Kennewick Man Injured in Head-On Collision Near Mesa Along SR 17
UPDATE/NEAR MESA, WA - Washington State Troopers say a Kennewick man was one of the two people involved in an accident along SR 17 on Tuesday.
Ramez Farag, 37, was driving northbound when he crossed the centerline and hit a semi truck head on. He was life flighted to Kadlec Hospital. The driver of the semi-truck, 56-year-old Douglas Howard of Rufus, was not injured.
Troopers say the accident happened due to inattention.
Crews have reopened all lanes.

The Washington State Department of Transportation reopened the lanes around 12:45 on Tuesday. However, emergency crews are still on scene working to clear the collision.
NEAR MESA, WA - The Washington State Department of Transportation says State Route 17 near Mesa is closed because of a crash between a semi and a car.
The DOT says southbound SR 17 is closed from milepost 7 near Mesa at the intersection with U.S. Highway 395, to milepost 14 at the intersection of State Route 260.
DOT crews, the Washington State Patrol, and emergency responders are working to clear the scene.
The DOT says the roadway should be open by about 3:00 in the afternoon.
