Gonzaga Women Win WCC Tournament Championship

LAS VEGAS - For the fifth time in six seasons, the No. 18 Gonzaga women claimed the WCC Tournament Championship. The Bulldogs beat the BYU Cougars 71-57 thanks to a team-high 20 points from Keani Albanez.

Albanez was named to the All-WCC Tournament team after the win.

The Zags jumped out to an early lead in the first half after going on a 12-0 run to take 22-10 lead. The Bulldogs ended the half on a 20-4 run and held a comfortable 30-14 lead at halftime.

WCC Player of the Year and BYU Center Jennifer Hamson led all scorers with 24 points along with 7 rebounds. Hamson only scored 8 of those points in the first half.

WCC First-Teamer Haiden Palmer was held to a tournament low of 3 points for Gonzaga. WCC Tournament Most Outstanding Player, Sunny Greinacher, helped Albanez with the scoring load, as the junior scored 16 points. Lindsay Sherbert added 15 off the bench for the Bulldogs and was named to the All-Tournament team along with Redmon

The win guarantees Gonzaga a spot in the NCAA tournament for the program's sixth straight postseason appearance.

      KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The LCSC baseball now knows its path to a third-consecutive title and 19th overall National Championship.   The Warriors were named the No. 5 Seed in the 10-team 2017 Avista NAIA Baseball World Series. They will play No. 4 Keiser at 7 p.m. on Friday May 26.   LCSC finished the regular season with an overall record of 35-13.
