YAKIMA, WA - It is a sad day for the art community in Yakima. Staff at Allied Arts are dissolving the organization due to financial issues.

Allied Arts was part of the Yakima community for 50 years and put on many events and workshops to bring artwork and culture to the city.

After years of financial issues and loosing their office space last year, the organization decided they had to say goodbye.

The board president said the writing was on the wall, but is remaining hopeful.

"I know that arts will continue in Yakima, by my hope is that there will be people in the community who want to step forward and form a new organization that is not saddled with the problems that Allied Arts has faced over the last many years and can start afresh," said board president, Meredith Bruch.

There is some good news though, the Fresh Hop Ale Festival Allied Arts puts on every fall will continue.

It was ranked one of the top 10 beer fests in the country.
