HERMISTON, OR - Checking in on a relatively new program in Hermiston, hundreds of people have been getting a discount on prescription drugs, saving a combined $3,500 over the last year.

The program is run through the National League of Cities so it's free for the city and free for everyone else involved. Anyone can sign up: the insured, uninsured, young and old...

"I've been impressed with how many people have actually used the program. We've had almost 400 people use the program since it was rolled out last year. I didn't really know what to expect from there but I've been pleased so far with how many people have used it," said assistant to the City Manager, Mark Morgan.

You can pick up a free discount at City Hall, by printing one off or even at the library. Some schools even have them on hand.

The city of Kennewick also participates in this program.
