BOISE, Idaho - Despite concerns from colleges in Idaho, and citing the Second Amendment, Governor Butch Otter signed into law on Wednesday legislation that allows guns on Idaho public college and university campuses.

The law will allow anyone with Idaho's enhanced concealed weapons permit, or retired law enforcement officers, to bring guns onto Idaho campuses.

The signing of the bill is controversial because all eight of Idaho's public colleges and universities, along with the state Board of Education, opposed the bill.
