Oregon State Police to Swear in 16 new Recruits Sunday - Oregon State Police will swear in 16 new recruits on Sunday. OSP Superintendent Richard Evans will welcome the 14 men and two women during a ceremony at the Oregon Public Safety Academy Hall of Heroes in Salem.

Moses Lake Man Found Hiding in Dryer after Standoff - A standoff at a Moses Lake mobile home park ended early Friday when a SWAT team entered a home and found a 23-year-old man hiding in a clothes dryer. The Grant County sheriff's gang unit went to the home Thursday night to arrest Sergio Herrera Jiron because he had failed to appear in court to face drug charges.

Energy Northwest Wins Small Victory in Battle Over Where to Store Used Nuclear Fuel - A battle over where to put the used nuclear fuel created by the Columbia Generating Station resulted in a small victory this week. A federal court awarded Energy Northwest just under $20 million in damages for the construction and licensing of a used fuel storage area.

Local State Crime Lab in Kennewick is Drug Focused - A lot of us are big fans of crime shows like CSI or Criminal Minds. The crime labs you see on those shows are pretty cool and we have one right here in our own backyard. The State Patrol runs a crime lab in Kennewick. In the lab connected to the State Patrol office, scientists are usually testing drugs.
