YAKIMA, WA - Workers at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital held an informational picket Friday.

SEIU Union members say they're worried a new partnership with the hospital will hurt quality care and they want a guaranteed contract that health care will stay local.

Members also say there's not enough staffing and they're being overworked.

"We want it to be settled. We want Memorial to settle with us in a fair contract," Chad Heiserman, a union member, told NBC Right Now.

A spokesperson for the hospital says they continue to work with union members and look forward to future conversations.

"I am hopeful and encouraged that SEIU and Memorial will come together and will reach a mutual agreement. I believe we're close," Hospital Spokesperson Jolene Seda said.

Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital is the largest employer in Yakima with 2,500 employees.

A spokesperson for the hospital says they'll continue to focus their efforts on local health care coverage.
