Man Arrested in Kennewick With the Help of Citizens

KENNEWICK, WA - Kennewick Police say with the help of citizens, an alleged burglar is behind bars.

A man reported another man had entered a home in the 700 block of S. Wilson Street around 4:15 Saturday morning. The intruder reportedly took prescription medications, cell phones, a purse, credit cards and cash. 

The victim was able to give officers a description of the suspect and track a cell phone by GPS. The tracker led police to a restroom at Hansen Park where one of the prescription bottles stolen from the residence was located. The suspect was not there.

The victim, his brother and Kennewick Police canvassed the area and the brother spotted the suspect in the 8300 block of W. 5th Avenue. 

Officers quickly found and arrested the suspect who is identified as 30-year-old Kevin Joseph Wilson. He had several of the stolen items with him as well as narcotics.

The victim's property was returned to him and Wilson was booked into the Benton County Jail on suspicion of Residential Burglary and Violation of the Unified Controlled Substance Act.
