KENNEWICK, WA - Police acted quickly to stop a Kennewick man from stealing from the Mid-Columbia Library on South Union Street.

According to officers, 30 year-old Jason Durston was caught in the act last week trying to get away with 11 DVDs. He was booked into the Benton County Jail for suspicion of theft in the 3rd degree. After further investigation, police say they discovered this was not Durston's first library theft. Last month he allegedly stole over 60 other items with a stolen library card.

74 DVDs and two books from the library were recovered, totaling up to about $1,500 in stolen property. Further charges are still under review by the Benton County Prosecutor's Office.
