SPOKANE, Wash. -
Not very many people could sell all of their belongings, and move to an impoverished third world country to help children they've never even met. Not unless you felt it was your calling in life.

But Spokane's Kevin and Shannon Davis are heading to Haiti where children are starving and struggling everyday just to survive.

Haiti lives in the hearts of the Davis family. They fell in love with the children of Ouanaminthe on their first trip in 2011.

"You see desperation and you see pain and hurt but you also see a different way of life. They're very relational, so its about spending time and being present with them," Shannon told KHQ's Stephanie Vigil.
When Stephanie asked what their main purpose is going to be when they get to Haiti, Kevin replied, "We want to set up feeding programs for children, we want to set up clean water projects and our third thing is just sharing the gospel while we're doing those things."

The Davis' have committed to spending at least a year in Haiti.

"It's so desperate. You can find people living in a 300 sq ft home and it can be 8 people living together and they may not have enough food for the day so it's day to day... You can tell that they have hope still and they want more but they're' limited to what's available to them," Shannon said.

Their calling is crystal clear to them . The davis' will soon live in poverty themselves to help those that cannot help themselves.

"We're not going to change the world, but we can change a kid's world," said Kevin.

The Davis family have more fund raising to do before they leave in if you'd like to know how you can get involved check out their Facebook page: Kevin And Shannon In Haiti
