Spokane Espresso Stand Allowing Baristas To Carry Firearms - While the robberies are frustrating for businesses in our area, no business owner is probably more frustrated than Sara Chapel. Her espresso stand, Jitterz Java on Northwest Blvd., has been robbed three times in the past month alone. So she is taking a stand. Oregon State Police at a Fatal Accident Near Hermiston - Oregon State Police say they are at the scene of a fatal accident on Highway 395 and East Punkin Center Road, just north of Hermiston. Two vehicles were involved in the accident, and one person was killed. http://tinyurl.com/nwvv4nc

Bomb Threats to Elementary Schools Shake up Helena - At approximately 8:45 AM officers received a call claiming a bomb was left at an elementary school. The Helena school district immediately evacuated all of their students from every elementary school to their safe zones. The schools were then given a full sweep, but there was no evidence of a bomb threat. Students were then allowed back to campus. http://tinyurl.com/oljsmtd

Australia Checking 2 Objects In Search For Plane - An air search in the southern Indian Ocean for possible objects from the missing Malaysia Airlines plane described as the "best lead" so far ended for the day without success Thursday but will resume in the morning, Australian rescue officials said. http://tinyurl.com/nkfkwsz

    SPOKANE, Wash. - Troopers are investigating an auto-ped fatal crash on I-90 eastbound near mile post 280. A 59 year old man was crossing I-90 when he was hit by a pick up truck. He died on the scene. Police say the driver does not appear at fault and don't believe drugs or alcohol played a factor.

    TWISP, Wash. (AP) - The Okanogan County Sheriff says the Carlton Complex wildfire has many more homes than previously thought. Sheriff Frank Rogers said Friday that the Carlton Complex fire has consumed about 300 homes this month. His office previously placed the number at 150, but he said then he knew it would rise.More >>
