Playdate Expo Makes Science Fun for Kids in Yakima

Posted: Updated:

YAKIMA, WA-- Saturday, kids in Yakima had the chance to become little scientists for the day.

The 5th Annual Playdate Expo was at the convention center showing kids all about science.

This year the Pacific Science Center was there showing off some cool physics experiments.

Organizers said they do this to give kids a hands-on experience and to show them that learning is not just in the classroom.

"We don't want a lecture, we want to have the kids working and really engaged and understand how science effects their everyday life," said expo organizer, Shannon Hitchcock.

This year the big attraction was Legos.

There was a Lego expert at the expo showing kids how to build robots and then fight them against each other to see who would come out on top.
