Tri-Cities HeartChase Raises Money for American Heart Association

RICHLAND, WA-- More than 300 people came together for the Tri-Cities HeartChase competition in Richland Saturday to raise money for the American Heart Association.

One hundred teams of up to five people each took on challenges at ten check points.

Participants used a smart phone app to track their progress and the team with the most points won.

Organizers say it's a heart healthy way to raise money and have some fun.

"We're trying to educate people while having fun in a game competitive process. And it's all about raising funds for the American Heart Association," said Trish Herron, event organizer.

Herron says they call the popular event a fun fundraiser.

This is the third time the HeartChase competition has happened in the Tri-Cities. This year the event raised over $30,000.
