Car, Truck Stolen in Kennewick, 8 Minutes Apart

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA - Kennewick Police say two vehicles that were stolen within 8 minutes of each other should be a reminder that it isn't safe to leave your car unlocked and running.

Officers say early Monday morning, two people in Kennewick learned that the hard way. Police say the two people left their car and truck unlocked and running to warm them up. Both came outside to find their vehicles gone.

Police don't think the incidents are related. They happened on the 6800 block of West Kennewick Avenue and the 7800 block of West Deschutes Avenue.

Officers are now looking for a silver 2004 Hyndai Sonata 4 Door Sedan, with Washington license plate AHE1311. Police are also looking for a tan 2000 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup with temporary Washington tags.

Don't make it easy for a car thief. Remember that when you leave it, lock it. Never leave your vehicle running and unattended. It's an open invitation for any thief.
