YAKIMA, WA - Everyday people who stepped up to make a difference in someone else's life are being honored.

The Red Cross held their annual Real Heroes Luncheon at the Yakima Convention Center Wednesday.

Our own Claire Graham and Kevin Shaub hosted the event.

For the last 14 years, we've partnered with the red cross to recognize the true heroes in our community.

"All stories from 14 years ago to now are all meaningful, and it's giving back to the community in some way shape or form," said Lisa Reinhart-Kapuza with the American Red Cross.

About 320 people attended Wednesday's event, which is about 100 more than last year.

The Red Cross said they received more than 70 real hero nominations for this year's event.
