MEACHAM, OR - Oregon State Police are investigating after an accident on I-84 that resulted in a child being ejected from the vehicle.
Officers say the accident happened west of Meacham just before midnight on Thursday. Beatriz Murillo, 38, was driving eastbound when she lost control on black ice. The SUV rolled several times and landed on the westbound shoulder.
Six family members were inside the SUV and a 5-year-old boy was ejected. Officers say the boy was not properly restrained. Paramedics flew him to a hospital in Portland with serious injuries.
The other five family members were taken to nearby hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. The westbound lanes remained closed for about an hour.
