Ravalli Co. Looks To Reorganize Treasurer's Office
As controversy surrounds the Ravalli County Treasurer's Office, the county looks to re-organize the office. Currently the office has a treasurer in charge, followed by a chief deputy second in command.
The county is considering eliminating the position of chief deputy, and creating two positions, one to be in charge of taxes, and the other to be in charge of the Department of Motor Vehicles.
This comes as a two-part investigation looks into the treasure's office and the county, after treasurer Valerie Stamey fell months behind in the offices financial reports, and failed to deposit thousands of dollars in checks.
Commissioners will vote on the office reorganization on Wednesday.
