USA Brass Reopens, Investigation Continues

BOZEMAN -

USA Brass reopened Friday after it was shut down Thursday during a federal investigation into environmental concerns.

Today employees spent the day re-organizing the facility after the Environmental Protection Agency, FBI, Montana Department of Environmental Quality and Bozeman Police raided the business Thursday.

EPA officials will only tell ABC FOX Montana they are looking into allegations of federal environmental law violations and there is no risk to the general public.

They said they are continuing their investigation, but won't say how long they expect the investigation to take.

In September, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration issued 10 citations and a $45,000 to the company for lead exposure violations.

In October, test results from the Gallatin County Health Department only confirmed at least 22 employees had elevated levels of lead in their bloodstreams.
