KENNEWICK, WA - Dozens of local gamers got social Friday night. Gamers gathered at the Toyota Center in Kennewick for an old fashioned Tri-City LAN Party.
People brought their PC's, monitors and even their comfy chairs to play games like Counter-strike, League of Legends, and Minecraft with each other.
You could find old gaming consoles, like a Dreamcast, and new ones, like the Xbox One! Some old style tube TV's were even brought in for an authentic experience.
Organizers say the turn-out was better than they expected.
"It makes us feel great because honestly when we booked the Toyota Center, we told them we're gonna have 30-40 people, so to be hitting 80 and have 100 people potentially coming on the Facebook page, we're excited about it that. We totally doubled our numbers and we're excited to see this amount of people," Joel Cline told NBC Right Now.
The group was thinking of holding LAN parties once a year, but now they are considering getting together every month or two if the demand stays high.
