GRANDVIEW, WA - One woman is dead after a one-car rollover two miles west of Grandview. Washington State Patrol says it happened around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday.

Troopers believe the driver, 21-year-old Arturo Castillo, of Prosser, was driving at a high rate of speed when he tried to turn onto Puterbaugh Road from Forsell Road. The Ford Fusion rolled and landed on its wheels.

Castillo's passenger, 22-year-old Magaly Barocio Valderas, of Sunnyside, was thrown from the car. She was not wearing a seatbelt. She was taken to Sunnyside Community Hospital where she died at 6:30 a.m.

WSP says drugs or alcohol were involved and charges against Castillo are pending.
