Landslide Closes I-90 Near Lookout Pass

Posted: Updated:
ST. REGIS -

UPDATE: I-90 is re-open to westbound traffic, MDT officials say.

The eastbound lane is open to two-way traffic, with flaggers and pilot cars. They say wide loads are forbidden. Maximum width is 10 ft.

Westbound I-90 lanes are closed for about a two-mile stretch after a landslide came down Sunday afternoon, covering the road in debris.

Montana Department of Transportation employees say traffic westbound traffic will be detoured at St. Regis on MT 135 to the junction of Hwy 200 where northbound lanes will take travelers through Sandpoint, Idaho.

Crews are on scene and MDT employees say while there is not much debris covering the lanes, crews need space to clean-up the highway.

We will keep you updated with the latest updates as it's made available.
