NACHES, WA - Yakima County Sheriff Deputies say a 30-year-old man from Naches is recovering after he was injured in a snowboarding accident.

Deputies say around noon on Saturday, the man went over an approximately 10 foot snow drift, and crashed into a hill on Chinook Pass near "Lilly pond".

Deputies say the man suffered injuries to his leg and hip, making him unable to move, so search and rescue crews had to respond.

Paramedics from the Snow Rescue units reached him, and were able to treat and stabilize him before bringing him to an awaiting ambulance. The ambulance then took him to the Yakima Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

Deputies have not released the man's name, so we can't check on his condition.
