SNOQUALMIE AND WHITE PASS, WA - Crews with the State Department of Transportation will be reducing I-90 down to single lane traffic in both directions next week to continue work on the pass.

This will start at 7:00 a.m. on Monday and will wrap up on Friday, April11th to build detours.

Those detours will be used starting April 12th and going to the 25th for more construction on the snow shed and I-90, which could cause traffic delays of two hours or more.

Staff at the DOT said it is all about planning when you are heading over the pass this month.

"That's going to be huge for people to plan their trips, and we're trying to let people know now so that they don't run in to these delays.  We want drivers to try and either plan and go early, go later in the evening or find an alternate route or even postpone their trip until after the 25th because it's going to be very major," Said Meagan McFadden from the DOT.

Another traffic alert if you are headed to the west side, White Pass will also be turned into one lane traffic in both directions while crews finish up work on the washout that happened back in October.

This starts Friday and will wrap up on April 25th.

This is to finish stabilizing the washout slope and add proper drainage to make it safer for drivers to head over the pass.
