RICHLAND, WA - If you have household hazardous waste to get rid of, now is your chance.
The spring Benton County household hazardous waste collection events will take place on two different weekends this year, one in Kennewick and the other in Richland.
On Friday and Saturday, April 4 and 5 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., you can drop off household hazardous waste at the Benton-Franklin Fairgrounds parking lot, 10th Avenue entrance, in Kennewick.
In Richland, the event will take place on Saturday, April 19th, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the City Shops, corner of Queensgate and Duportail in southwest Richland. Look for signs directing you to the entrance.
Hazardous material includes paints, solvents, cleaners, automotive fluids, pesticides, fertilizers, fluorescent light bulbs, batteries, propane tanks, and pool or hot tub chemicals.
Items not accepted include electronics, tires, appliances, explosives, radioactive materials, asbestos, biohazards and trash. Proof of Benton County residency is required.
