Wildflower Tour Registration Open Through April 14th

BURBANK, WA - There is still time to enter your name into the lottery for the wildflower tours on the Hanford Reach National Monument.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is doubling the number of tours, from four to eight, because last year's tours were so popular. The tours are in the Arid Lands Ecology Reserve area and may include the top of Rattlesnake Mountain, if the weather cooperates.
The tours were on a first-come, first-served basis last year; they were filled in 21 seconds. This year, the agency is holding an online lottery.
"Last year the demand was so great that the servers couldn't keep up," said Larry Klimek, the manager of the Hanford Reach National Monument. "A lot of people were frustrated, so we've taken great care to make the registration process as smooth and accessible as possible."
Registration for the lottery runs through April 14th, closing at 3:00 p.m. Winners will be notified by email by April 16th.
