RICHLAND, WA - A mother and daughter were sent to the hospital Thursday evening, after a man hit them with his truck in Richland.

Police say a 52-year-old woman and her 15-year-old daughter were crossing the street, near the intersection of McMurray Street and Everest Avenue, when a 77-year-old man hit them with his truck. The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

The man told police he didn't see the woman and teenager in the crosswalk; they were headed to a nearby grocery store.

The woman was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with injuries to her pelvis; her condition is unknown at this time. The daughter was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

Police cited the 77-year-old man for failing to yield.
