Montana Tech Football's New Offense

Posted: Updated:

The past few seasons, Chuck Morrell's defense has always been relentless. But the offense has gone through a lot of changes. Three offensive coordinators in 3 years. The new offense can best be described using the letter M.

"Multiple. Yeah we're going to be multiple in the tempo, multiple in the personnel we use the plays we run we want to get good at what we're doing. We're not going to be crazy and do 1,000 different things but we're going to try and be pretty multiple," said offensive coordinator Pete Sterbick.

"Multiple I mean I think of the many things going on I think about all the things being a defensive guy  that are tough for us to defend and his offense presents a lot of schematic challenges to us so I'm excited to see our  guys execute it," said head coach Chuck Morrell.

What's great about this offense is that the players are picking it up really easily.

"I see our guys grabbing on to the scheme really fast and executing it and there's a lot of moving pieces going on but I think our guys have a great understanding here early in the process," said Morrell.

"I like the fact that we get to fit it around the kids that we have. We're going to fit it around our guys talent. We don't have an offense coming in and asking our guys to be pigeon holed. We're going to base it around who we have," said Sterbick.

The Orediggers want to be efficient offensively when Spring ball ends.

"I want to get to the point where we're able to impose our will to the point where we run things we want to run, not just because we have to run them that's the biggest thing. I want us coming out of Spring ball with an identity. I want them to know August 23 at least part of our scheme what's the going to be what's going to be going on against Western," said Sterbick.
