KENNEWICK, WA-- The 2nd Annual U.S. Coast Guard Open House gave people an inside look Saturday at the local agencies that serve us.
The coast guard hosted the event at Clover Island in Kennewick where they displayed their boats and other local law enforcement vehicles.
People could get inside the impressive vehicles and try on official gear.
The coast guard says it's all to teach people what they do for the public.
"The biggest thing we want people to know is we are here for them. We are serving the tax payers," said Jeff Ruggieri, U.S. Coast Guard.
The event also included a brief ceremony to honor the work of our military members and other local law enforcement agencies.
Benton and Franklin Counties, regional Dive and Rescue teams and the U.S. Coast Guard participated.
