Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, WA - A man says somebody stole his phone and cut him with a knife while he was walking in Kennewick early Wednesday morning.

Kennewick Police say they responded to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco about 5:00 am to find 25 year old Domminick Pruitt being treated for a cut on his hand.

Pruitt told them he was walking home to Pasco and was near the intersection of Columbia Drive and Gum street in Kennewick when a vehicle passed him several times.

The victim says the vehicle eventually stopped, and a man got out and demanded he hand over his phone.

Pruitt refused and the suspect lunged at him with a knife.   Pruitt grabbed the knife and was cut.  The suspect then got the phone and left.

The victim says he could only describe the attacker as hispanic or asian, about 5' 10" with a medium build, and could not describe the vehicle or anyone else in it.

Police say he called a family member to take him to the hospital in Pasco after the robbery.

Police are still investigating the incident.
