KENNEWICK, WA - Workers from Trios Health are now "Occupying Southridge." Hospital workers marched to the new hospital at Southridge on Friday.

The last time Tri-Citians marched for a hospital was back in 1950, when people were demanding a community facility.

Friday's march was more of a celebration! Workers marched from the Southridge Sports Complex to the new Trios Southridge Hospital.

"This time at this moment, it's really important to, you know, share in the excitement of getting occupancy of this facility so that we have the energy to see it through and get the job done over the next couple of months," Trios Health's Director of Marketing and Business Development Lisa Teske described.

Construction on the new Southridge building is complete.

After Friday's march, physicians, clinicians, and support personnel will "claim occupancy" and begin moving in.

They'll be training and preparing for the hospital's opening day, which is scheduled for early June.
