Semi Driver Runs Red Light, Four People Injured in Crash

Posted: Updated:

RICHLAND, WA - Troopers say the cause of a semi vs. pickup crash in Richland is 'inattention.' The driver of a tractor trailer, 44-year-old Gustavo Preciado, of Hermiston, ran a red light and hit a pickup. Charges against him are pending and he was not hurt.

The driver of the pickup, 40-year-old Rene Johnson, of Richland, was heading north on Van Giesen when it happened around 3:15 Saturday afternoon. Washington State Patrol says two 14-year-olds and a 12-year-old were also in the pickup. Troopers say all four were sent to Kadlec Regional Medical Center.

The Patient Care Coordinator at Kadlec says Rene Johnson, 12-year-old Colby Johnson and 14-year-old Austin Johnson were treated and released. 14-year-old Skyler Johnson was transported to Sacred Heart in Spokane. No word yet on his condition.
