The Central Washington State Fair has announced its theme for this year: "What Does the Fair Say?"
YAKIMA, WA - The Central Washington State Fair has announced its theme for this year: "What Does the Fair Say?"
Fair directors say no matter where you are on the fairgrounds, you'll not only hear music, you'll hear people laughing and talking, screams of delight from the midway, and the many sounds of the farm animals from the livestock area.
By playing up on the cacophony that is the fair, the board of directors and management chose the theme with a nod to the viral music video "What Does The Fox Say" by Ylvis, where two Norwegian talk show hosts, Bård Ylvisåker and Vegard Ylvisåker sang the title song. "We think this theme offers us lots of opportunities to play up on the fun and the fun sounds that are all over the Fair," said Fair president and general manager Greg Stewart. "And we plan on creating a little parody of the popular video."
Stewart says the new theme also ties into the Fair with an expanded slate of musical entertainment all around the fairgrounds. He says while the line-up of entertainers isn't completely ready, fairgoers will notice the increased commitment to music and fun.
This year's Central Washington State Fair is scheduled for September 19-28 in Yakima. For more information about the fair, go to www.fairfun.com
