It’s that time of year again, racing season officially kicks off this Saturday at the Spokane County Raceway with the first of 10, planned “Mud Bog” events. Mud Bog racing is a popular off-road motor sport where beefed up vehicles attempt to sprint through a large pit of…you guessed it…mud. Drivers from all over the area are set to compete against each other this Saturday.

Winners will be determined by who makes it through the new “Bog” located in the center of the SCR Oval Track. If more than one driver makes it, time to traverse is the tie breaker. Racers generally drive 4x4 vehicles through the bog. Drivers say it’s all about the glory, getting dirty, and having fun!

The "Mud Bog" races are open to entry to anyone interested, and up to the challenge. Entries from as far away as Canada are expected. Pit gates open at 10 a.m, with a $40 entry fee.

Spectators can enjoy the action of this exciting event from the safety of the grandstands for just $12. Kid’s 10 and under are free for this great family friendly weekend event. Spectator gates open at 1 pm.

More information about the Mud Bogs and other events at SCR can be found at www.racing.sc or find us on Facebook.
