YAKIMA, WA - The City of Yakima miCare clinic is enjoying a successful first year.

More than 85 percent of the city's retirees, current employees and their families use the medical facility.

The city said they pay miCare a set rate for operating the clinic and can now avoid most of the hefty costs of paying private health care providers.

The city said it saved them around $800,000 in 2013 and significantly reduced emergency room visits.
