Busy Easter Day For Yakima Valley Churches

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, WA. -- People packed the pews Sunday. Easter is one of the most popular days of the year for church attendance. Churches around the region report filled seats Sunday morning for their services.

The Foursquare Church in Terrace Heights says they welcomed more than 100 people than on an average Sunday.

"Easter kind of brings out people who maybe don't normally come to Sunday, but I love that," Pastor Mark Grange said. "There's people coming in and seeking and it's an opportunity for us to build relationship with them. To bring them into a place where they can safely explore faith and I love a packed house."

Easter is also one of the biggest holidays for consuming candy. Second only to Halloween, Americans buy 120-million pounds of Easter candy every year.
