Unique Easter Service Brings Music and Fun to Yakima Sundome

YAKIMA, WA. -- With a DJ, a light show and a jumbotron, you might think this was concert. And you wouldn't be far off.

More than two thousand people packed the Sundome for the 4th annual Changing Point Church Easter Celebration. They danced, prayed and watched biblical characters come to life.
"Some people might say there is too much theatrics, what do you want to say to them?" we asked Pastor Moreno.

"Ah no man," Pastor Moreno. "The best is always worth the best celebration. There was no theatre here. That was raw expression of passion and appreciation."

And after the service there was plenty of Easter themed games for everybody. The state fair grounds opened up to games like a church walk, a crown toss and of course Easter eggs.
"I really loved it," Evelia Sandoval said. "It really inspires a lot of people. If people don't know a lot about the bible and they want to get to know Christ, this is the way to go."

"It was awesome," Luis Ceja said. "The music was just heart filling. It was a tear jerker. It was a holy spirit type of joy."
With dwindling church attendance around the country, Pastor Moreno says more events like this can bring the newer generation back to the pews.
"The church I went to was boring," Pastor Moreno said. "This generation is all about the extreme."

For now this extreme Easter celebration is over. And they say just wait until you see what they have planned for next year.
