Two Teens Facing Charges for Burglary in Terrace Heights Area

UPDATE: One of the teenagers arrested but released after a burglary in the Terrace Heights area Wednesday morning is back in custody.  Yakima County Sheriff's Deputies say the suspect was currently out on bail in Kittitas County on a burglary charge.  Kittitas County issued a warrant for him later in the afternoon with the assumption he committed a new crime while on release.  Members of  the Violent Crimes Task Force served the warrant and took the teen into custody, then transported him to Kittitas County where he was booked.

YAKIMA, WA. - Two teens are facing charges accused of trying to burglarize a home in the Terrace Heights area.

The Yakima County Sheriff's Office says around 9:15 a.m. Wednesday the two tried to burglarize a home in the 300 block of Wendt Rd. The homeowner was home at the time and took pictures of the suspects. He also confronted them with a shotgun and the two drove off.

Deputies later caught up with the two in the area and arrested them. They attempted to book them into the Yakima County Juvenile Detention Facility but were denied because the facility is at maximum population. Both suspects were released into the custody of their parents. They are facing charges for burglary.
