WA Farmers Markets To Get A Boost Of Business With Wine

PASCO, WA - Thanks to a new bill, this season is a big first for the farmers markets.
Here in the state of Washington they can start telling winery vendors to join the fun and try out some tasting at the market. In Pasco, Manager Mike Somerville says he will be allowed to bring in about 3 wine vendors every week, but that is his maximum. To make sure you get a wide variety of tastes it is likely in they will rotate wineries every week.
"A lot of our regular customers were very excited about it and I think there are more people that are looking forward to being able to come and sample some of the local wines because we have an awful lot of wineries around here. Let's face it, we're big in the state," explained Somerville.
Our local markets are set to open over the next few weeks including the Pasco market, which starts up May 3rd.
