Former Union Gap Mayor Arrested Again

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, WA - The former mayor of Union Gap is in the Yakima County Jail on a $50,000 bond.

Yakima Police arrested Jim Lemon on Sunday morning and booked him on two counts of criminal trespassing, a count of obstructing a law enforcement officer, two counts of malicious mischief and willful interference with access to a health care facility.

Police say Lemon had been taking off his clothes and destroying property at the Good Samaritan nursing home where his wife works. Officers say he then went across the street to the mini-mart where he assaulted the clerk and destroyed property.

Police arrested Lemon back in November on charges of domestic violence, malicious mischief, trespassing and obstructing officers. For those charges, Lemon appeared in court one day late. Prosecutors told the court the former mayor had refused to leave his cell, and just sat there naked.

One week prior, Lemon was arrested for driving under the influence.
