Washington State University is offering student internships to help communities along State Route 530 recover from the deadly mudslide that occurred near Oso on March 22nd. PULLMAN, WA - Washington State University is offering student internships to help communities along State Route 530 recover from the deadly mudslide that occurred near Oso on March 22nd.
The 92 WSU students whose families live in the affected area will be given first priority for a dozen internships to help with economic, environmental and community recovery.
Interns will gain practical experience, earn college credit and make an hourly wage.
The 10-week summer internships will be offered to WSU students whose majors relate to the skills that are needed by the communities of Darrington, Oso and Arlington.
The mudslide killed 43 people.
