Community Spotlight: Cruisin the Drag

On our May 1st's Community Spotlight, Tori Bender met up with Erin Doran from the Downtown Great Falls Association, to hear about the 15th Anniversary of Cruisin the Drag.

The event is being held on May 3rd. Those who want to show off their cars can register by Bennett Motors from 8:00-10:00. All of the cars being shown will be lined up on Central Avenue. Tons of food and venders will also be there at each intersection. The winners of the event will be offered cash and/or trophy's for their categories.

This is also a family event. They are offering tons of games for the kids. Plus the Children's Museum will be free to the public all day.

    Drug treatment court is a jail alternative program provided by the justice system, aiming to help people overcome drug addiction rather than imprison them. It first began in Great Falls in 2005 and a Veterans Treatment Court was added in 2013. Since then, it has grown to be the largest drug treatment court in the state. Under District Judge Greg Pinski, the court has taken on some unique initiatives and has been awarded over $1,000,000 in federal grants.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - A 32-year-old Spokane man was sentenced to 30 years in prison Tuesday, after he pleaded guilty to drug trafficking charges, firearms offenses and threatening witnesses. The United States Attorney's Office reported Tuesday that Aren Lee Perryman, aka Filthy, pleaded guilty to Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Heroin; Possessing and Using Firearms in Connection with Drug Trafficking; and Intimidating and Threatening witnesses.
