Former Washington State University standout and Olympic track and field medalist Bernard Lagat joined SWX's Michelle Dapper in studio to talk about everything from Bloomsday to the retiring of longtime Cougar track coach Rick Sloan.

Lagat has competed for both Kenya and the United States in the Olympics. At the 2000 Sydney games Lagat took the bronze medal in the 1500 meter and at the 2004 Athens games he came away with the silver medal in the same event. After establishing dual citizenship in the United States, Lagat finished fourth in the 5000 meter run at the 2012 London Olympic games.
The former Cougar star was earned collegiate recognition while at WSU, achieving All-American status twice in cross country and nine times in track and field. In 1999, Lagat placed first in the mile and 3000m races at the NCAA Indoor Championships and was named the NCAA Indoor Male Athlete of the Year. Lagat also won the 5000m race at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. Lagat also racked up four Pac-10 Conference championships and was named the Men's Track and Field Co-Athlete of the Year in 1999.
