YAKIMA, WA.--Color runs are just a ton of fun and more than a thousand people got in on the action at Sarg Hubbard park in Yakima Sunday.

The 5k Color Run benefits the Yakima Greenway's "Kiddin' Around" program. The program promotes a healthy and active lifestyle for young kids with an emphasis on fighting childhood obesity.

Many participants told us they're happy to help support a good cause and getting splattered with paint is another highlight.

"The colors make it more fun," said Austin Backes. "There's powder everywhere. You get all messy. Kind of takes away it's not just running, you're having fun too and there's music."

The winner of NBC's Biggest Loser Season 5 attended. Ali Vincent ran and cheered people on from the finish line.
