NBCRightNow.com - The Umatilla County Sheriff's Office says three men are safe after they didn't return from a fishing trip Sunday in the Ukiah area.

Deputies say Christopher Wineland, 27, of Pilot Rock, Steven Sunman, 28, and Kyle Miller, 26, both of Pendleton left for the trip Sunday and planned to return that evening. Wineland's girlfriend contacted the Umatilla County Sheriff's Office when they had not returned by 2:30 a.m. on Monday.

Search and Rescue units responded and found Wineland's unoccupied vehicle off Pearson Creek Road, approximately 5 miles south of East Birch Creek Road. A little while later, crews found all three men in good shape on Pearson Creek Road.

Wineland told investigators they became stuck around 10 p.m. Sunday night. They walked five miles to another location to spend the night and then continued walking Monday morning.
