Richland police are trying to find the teen who set fire to a Molotov cocktail in the roadway on Wednesday.
RICHLAND, WA - Richland police are looking for a teenager who set off a moltov cocktail on a neighborhood street and then took off on a bike.
Witnesses told police they saw a teenager drop a glass container with fflammableliquid inside. The molotov cocktail started a fire in the road at the intersection of Newcomer and Davidson Avenues. The dropped molotov cocktail and flames left a mark on the road.
Police say a passer-by saw it all happen and put out the fire. The witness also told officers the teen boy took off on a bike and it looked like he had burns on his left hand and arm.
"A citizen saw a juvenile on a bike, or we believe was a juvenile on a bike, with a container lighting it. And when they made eye contact, the person dropped it. It kind of blew up in flames and he took off riding his bike. So what his intention was we don't know," said Sgt. Mike Harrison.
Police want your help to track down this person who drop the molotov cocktail for his reckless burning offense. The teen is described as a male between 14 and 18 years old, white, brown shaggy hair and signs of burns on his left arm and hand.
