KENNEWICK, WA - For the last five years HAPO Community Credit Union has helped pay for enough events in the Tri-Cities to be known as the Official Sponsor of Summer. But this year, they're taking it one step further.

In addition to sponsoring the Live @ 5 Concert Series, Cool Desert Nights car show, River of Fire Festival, Grand Old Fourth Parade and the Over the River Air Show during the Water Follies, HAPO will also be the title sponsor of the Columbia Cup hydroplane races.

At a news conference today announcing the addition, HAPO Executive Vice President and C.O.O. Steve Anderson said, "I think it's very important that we have family sponsored family fun events for the entire community to enjoy and of course we love being the sponsor for those events." Water Follies Event Director Kathy Powell added, "They're here to make sure we have a great quality of life and part of that is bringing these great events to the Tri-Cities in the summer time."

HAPO also sponsors events in Walla Walla, Hermiston and the Yakima Valley.

In order to have fun in the sun, you'll want to make sure your boat is safe and your passengers will be too. Today we stopped by the 19th Annual Boat and RV show to get some tips from the Benton County Sheriffs and Coast Guard Auxiliary volunteers. They say you should take inventory of your boat to see if anything may have gotten lost ...More >>
