YAKIMA, WA - Many local cities still have big decisions to make about whether to allow marijuana businesses or not. The City of Selah is one of them.

Tuesday, the city council heard from the public regarding their second marijuana moratorium in a year. People we talked to after the meeting were split on the issue.

"A store here in Selah would bring a lot more crime," Carmen Mendez of SAFE Yakima said. "It would increase access to youth. It's just not a good business for society to have."

"On a local level, we're creating, in this industry, jobs," Jedidiah Haney said. "Jobs that are stable jobs, they're agricultural jobs. This commodity shows true promise for our communities."

On May 20th, the Selah Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on marijuana.
