HAYDEN, Idaho - Two men walked away from a plane crash near Hayden Wednesday afternoon.

The Kootenai County Sheriff's Office told KHQ a father and son left Felts Field in Spokane Wednesday afternoon and as they were attempting to land at the airport in Hayden, the engine died on them. As the plane came gliding to the ground, it hit an unoccupied road grader, bounced off a dirt road once before coming back down and crashing on Reed Road.

The 76-year-old pilot, Terry Holman and his 28-year-old son, Brian, walked away from the crash with very minor injuries. Terry has been flying planes since 1960 and this is his first crash.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating.
