RICHLAND, WA - The solution for an animal issue in West Richland could be coming soon, but a local group needs your help.

Saturday's Pawcasso event is centered around the push for a better animal friendly West Richland. The city's current shelters are not open to the public, which makes it hard to visit and adopt and even find lost pets. By auctioning off great items, ASAP (Adopt Shelter Animal Pets) hopes to raise money and awareness for their cause.

"We're fully funded by donations so we're looking for donors, looking for people who can provide services. We're always in need of volunteers," said Kelly Merrick from ASAP.

Organizations from across the region all donated items up for auction. The group says they aim to raise at least about $25,000.

If you didn't make it over to the silent auction there are other ways to help. Just visit their donate page below to find the best way you can contribute to help the animals: http://www.asapwestrichland.com/#!donate/ctzx
