Vancouver Hospital Patients at Risk of Hepatitis C

Posted: Updated:
VANCOUVER, WA - More than 900 former patients of a hospital in Vancouver are being advised to be tested for hepatitis C because a former employee is suspected of diverting drugs for personal use.

Clark County Public Health and PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center mailed letters Monday to 936 patients telling them they may have been exposed. The hospital is apologizing and offering to pay for the tests.

The investigation began after PeaceHealth learned of the drug diversion and found one of the employee's patients was diagnosed with the blood-borne liver disease.
